10 weeks ago, I joined some friends in little contest to see who could lose the most weight over this period (percentage-based). That time has passed, and while I didn’t end up the biggest loser, I am quite a loser all the same (wait, that doesn’t sound quite right). In any case, the winner (Mandy) and I ended up losing the exact same amount of weight (18.4 lbs!!!). I feel good! I haven’t weighed this little, since college.

We got back a week ago from a good, but crazy trip to Pennsylvania and Chicago. The trip started on Friday (the 20th) with a 5 hour flight to D.C. We then had a 2 hour layover (turned out to be about only one hour), and then a 30 minute+ flight to Philadelphia. Finally, we got our rental car and drove 2 hours to Pottsville, for my cousin, Julie’s wedding. Sarah and the kids had never met this side of the family, so it was a fun trip for that and to see where Dad grew up.
Sunday, we drove the 2 hours back to Philadelphia (we made it just in time for our flight after missing the turnpike exit), and flew to Chicago. We had a great time there with everyone for the rest of the week. Oh, and Andrew lost 2 more teeth!

Can you believe 20 weeks have gone by already?! Here are pictures of the new kid on the block. Kate saw these and said knowingly: “that looks like a boy baby.”

Two years ago, for Father’s Day, Sarah bought me a brand-new 8 person tent. I was very excited. Fast-forward to now. This past weekend we finally opened the box and headed up to Silver Falls State Park for an overnight camping trip. It was a good first trip for the kids. Lucy was literally bouncing off of the tent walls after eating s’mores!

Andrew celebrated his 6th birthday on Sunday. We had a great time bowling at our local bowling alley. He had requested a “Yoshi” birthday cake. For those of you who have no idea what I’m talking about, it’s a Nintendo character he is quite fond of. The only problem is there is absolutely no commercially made cake form for such a character. So, I had to make it up. He had a super party.
In other Andrew news … he has named F4. Cleverly, he refers to him/her as “Bob” and then laughs hysterically. Too cute.
